The podcast host, media personality and New York Times bestselling author will see her life story adapted into a film, with 101 Studios developing the project under its first look deal with Universal Pictures.

The studio, known for producing the Emmy nominated neo western Yellowstone, is fast tracking the adaptation following the memoir’s early success, released last month, ‘Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic’ traces Bunnie’s path from a turbulent upbringing in Las Vegas trailer parks to becoming a podcast powerhouse and outspoken voice online.

The book has already spent three weeks on the New York Times Bestsellers List, cementing its impact among readers.

For Bunnie, bringing the story to film feels surreal (per billboard):

“Writing this book was one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever done. I told my story the only way I knew how: raw, real and unapologetic,” she said.

“Seeing it now move from the pages to the big screen is something I never could have imagined. I can’t wait for audiences to experience the chaos, the heartbreak, the humor and the redemption in a way that only film can capture. If this film does anything, I hope it reminds people that your past nor your trauma can ever define you, your comeback does. It’s never too late.”

The announcement sparked an emotional response from Bunnie online, where she shared a video reacting to the news alongside messages of support from fans and family, her husband, Grammy winning country star Jelly Roll, also celebrated the milestone.

“To my #1 NYT best-selling wife,” he wrote. “Every dream you ever dreamed you have made come true. Honored to be your husband.”

According to 101 Studios CEO David Glasser, the adaptation aims to capture the same honesty that made the memoir resonate with readers (per Variety):

“Bunnie Xo’s story is the kind of raw, unfiltered journey that audiences immediately connect with – honest, fearless and ultimately inspiring,” he said.

The film will mark Bunnie’s first major step into Hollywood storytelling, meanwhile Jelly Roll has already dipped a toe into the cinema world, earlier this year the animated sports comedy ‘Goat’, which features the country star, opened with $35 million at the U.S. box office.

With the memoir already striking a nerve with readers, the big-screen version could bring Bunnie Xo’s story to an even wider audience.
