Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus has claimed Violent Soho are getting back together during a live appearance in Sydney.
As first reported by Rolling Stone Australia, Hoppus made the statement on stage at the Sydney Opera House while touring his memoir ‘Fahrenheit-182’, before bringing out Luke Boerdam and James Tidswell for an acoustic performance of ‘Dammit’.
“I wasn’t joking by the way, they really are getting back together,” Hoppus told the crowd.
Blunt has obtained exclusive video and photos from the show, capturing the surprise appearance and performance inside the Concert Hall.

Neither Boerdam nor Tidswell addressed the claim on stage, and Violent Soho have yet to confirm anything publicly. Still, the timing adds weight to the moment.
This month marks ten years since the release of ‘WACO’, the band’s ARIA No. 1 fourth album. A limited edition vinyl repress has already been announced, with the band recently reflecting on the record as a point where they “tried to push [their] sound further” after the success of ‘Hungry Ghost’.
Released in March 2016, ‘WACO’ debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and dominated triple j’s Hottest 100, with all six singles making the countdown. Tracks like ‘Viceroy’, ‘Like Soda’, and ‘Blanket’ helped define Violent Soho as one of Australia’s most important rock bands of the 2010s.
The band entered an indefinite hiatus in 2022 after nearly 20 years together.
If Hoppus is right, that hiatus could be coming to an end.
Hoppus will wrap up his Australian speaking tour next week, following recent shows that included a guest appearance from Amy Shark in Melbourne.
