Winston McCall: “We Were Blindsided” as Parkway Drive Condemn Jed Gordon and Apologise

Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall has addressed the Jed Gordon situation in a video statement, saying the band were “completely blindsided” by the extent of his behaviour while condemning his actions and apologising to those affected.

In the video, McCall said the band supports the victim “100%” and made clear their position on the situation.

“This is f**ked,” he said. “And this is Jed’s reckoning to answer for.”

McCall also acknowledged the band’s connection to Gordon, who is the brother of drummer Ben Gordon, and said they carry responsibility for employing him and placing him in roles where he interacted with fans.

“We employed him for a long time, and we put him in a position where he had contact with a lot of people. That’s our moral responsibility too. We see it and we hold it,” he said.

He added that the band had previously been aware Gordon could be “bad with people,” and apologised to anyone who had negative experiences with him during that time.

“To anyone that’s had bad interactions with Jed while employed with us, we’re so sorry,” McCall said.

At the same time, McCall said the band did not know the full extent of Gordon’s behaviour and were “completely blindsided,” explaining they only became aware of the situation through screenshots and court documents circulating online.

The statement also addressed broader issues within the Byron Bay hardcore scene, with McCall acknowledging that power imbalances, consent issues and bullying were present.

“As men in a place of privilege, we need to do better,” he said.

“What we want to say to any victims… we see you and we hear you. We take your pain and trauma seriously.”

McCall said the situation was “heartbreaking” and called for greater accountability within the community moving forward.
