Parkway Drive Release Full ‘Home’ Trailer, Confirm Sydney World Premiere

Parkway Drive have released the full trailer for Home, giving fans their first proper look at the concert film built around the band’s landmark Sydney Opera House performance.

The film will have its world premiere at Sydney’s State Theatre on Tuesday, November 10th, with a black tie screening followed by a Q&A with the band. It will then roll out in cinemas worldwide during November.

The trailer returns to the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, where Parkway Drive performed a sold-out show with a full symphonic orchestra last June.

Rather than simply cutting together footage from the night, it also gets into what made the show such an unusual undertaking for the band (per The Music).

Parkway Drive discuss the nerves of rebuilding their songs around an orchestra, while footage from ‘Home Is For The Heartless’ gives an early look at how the performance has been captured on screen.

Jenna McDougall and Nooky also feature after both joining the band during the Opera House show. McDougall appeared for the live debut of ‘A Deathless Song’, while Nooky joined Parkway Drive for ‘Shadow Boxing’.

BLUNT was there that night, calling it “a monumental night of Aussie metal” as songs including ‘Prey’, ‘Carrion’ and ‘The Colour Of Leaving’ were reworked around orchestral arrangements.

But Home doesn’t appear to stop when the concert does.

Last October, frontman Winston McCall rappelled from a helicopter onto the Sydney Opera House sails while filming a separate sequence for the project, adding another layer to what was already far removed from a standard live-film setup.

The feature is produced by Hype Republic and directed by Allan Hardy, who also worked on Viva The Underdogs, alongside Bra Boys filmmaker Macario De Souza. Mushroom Studios will distribute the film.

Parkway Drive only began teasing the full trailer yesterday, asking fans to comment “HOME” on social media for an early look.

Now the bigger picture is starting to come together.

Home premieres in Sydney on November 10th before Parkway Drive take one of the biggest nights of their career to cinema screens around the world.
