Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage needs to sober up and save the world in MKII.
Mortal Kombat II is just around the corner, and here comes a final trailer to remind fervent fans of fighty films that tickets are on sale right now, should you be keen to secure a seat rather early. There’s also some business about Karl Urban’s downslope action star having to step up and save the world by kicking seven shades of hell out of a variety of outlandish mooks in the titular cosmic kumite. Which is all the plot you need, really.
Mortal Kombat II Final Trailer

As the official synopsis briefly intones:
The fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.
But c’mon now – the story is pretty rudimentary, and that’s for the best. We know what we want – fatalities.
