Drowning Pool Announce ‘Sinner’ 25th Anniversary Vinyl And Expanded Release

Share

Nu-metal didn’t just leave a mark in the early 2000s, it carved its name straight into concrete.

Now, Drowning Pool’s ‘Sinner’ is being dragged back into the spotlight, with a 25th anniversary reissue that leans hard into nostalgia without sanding off its edges.

‘Sinner’ returns on vinyl and expanded digital

Craft Recordings has confirmed a 25th anniversary edition of ‘Sinner’, landing June 5th. The reissue comes in multiple vinyl variants, including a Sea Ink Swirl pressing, alongside exclusive versions through select retailers and the band’s own store.

On the digital side, things get a little deeper, the expanded release adds ‘Bodies (Chris Vrenna’s XXX Tweaker Mix)’ (stream here), ‘The Man Without Fear (feat. Rob Zombie)’, and ‘Break You (Demo)’, giving longtime fans a reason to revisit a record that already feels welded into the DNA of the genre.

A debut that hit like a sledgehammer

Released in 2001, ‘Sinner’ wasn’t subtle, built around Dave Williams’ raw delivery and a rhythm section that never eased off the gas, the album quickly cut through the noise, it debuted at No.14 on the Billboard 200 and went Platinum in under three months.

At the centre of it all sits ‘Bodies’, you already know the hook and you’ve heard it in arenas, games, wrestling promos, probably blasting through dodgy speakers at some point in your life. It’s blunt, repetitive, and impossible to ignore, more importantly it captured a very specific kind of release that defined the era.

Tracks like ‘Tear Away’ and ‘Sinner’ added more depth, pulling at themes of identity, pressure, and internal conflict, it wasn’t just about smashing things, it was about why you felt like smashing them in the first place.

The legacy and the loss

‘Sinner’ also carries weight beyond the riffs, it remains the only Drowning Pool album with Williams, who passed in 2002, that alone gives this reissue a different kind of gravity.

The band hasn’t stood still since, cycling through vocalists and dropping multiple records, but this debut remains the one fans circle back to.

“We appreciate all of our amazing fans that have stuck with us over the past 25 years!” the band shared (via press release).

“We will be playing the Sinner record in its entirety and other fan-favorite songs as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone and performing all these songs live again! Come celebrate Sinner with us. See you at the shows!”

They’ll be taking that celebration on the road across the US, UK, and Europe through 2026.
