UK post-hardcore outfit Static Dress have unleashed a new video for ‘dull blade disguise’ just as their long awaited second album Injury Episode officially lands today.

Released via Sumerian Records, Injury Episode arrives after months of anticipation and continues the band’s evolution into one of alternative music’s most ambitious and unpredictable acts.

The new visual for ‘dull blade disguise’ was directed by frontman Olli Appleyard, who once again takes charge of the band’s signature cinematic and surreal aesthetic, check it out below:

The release follows a huge run of momentum for the quartet, including their recent Australian tour supporting Loathe across sold out shows in every capital city.

While Static Dress built their name on post-hardcore intensity, Injury Episode sees the band stretching far beyond those foundations, across the record the group leans into atmosphere, melody and emotionally raw performances without abandoning the tension and unpredictability that made them stand out in the first place.

Unlike many heavily polished modern alternative records, Injury Episode strips away excessive studio manipulation in favour of something more direct and human. Much of the album was recorded in ways designed to preserve live energy and emotional immediacy, with the band often capturing performances in single takes.

The album also marks the first time every member of Static Dress contributed creatively across a full-length release. Vocalist Olli Appleyard, guitarist Vin Weight, bassist George Holding and drummer Sam Ogden all played a major role in shaping the record’s sound and direction.

Recent singles including ‘human props’, ‘Nostalgia Kills’ featuring Underoath and the atmospheric left-turn ‘…hospice’ hinted at a broader sonic palette ahead of the album’s arrival. That experimentation continues throughout Injury Episode, which balances towering alternative rock moments with jagged breakdowns, cinematic textures and deeply personal lyricism.

Known for building an expansive visual and narrative universe around their music, Static Dress have continued pushing their world-building further with Injury Episode. The record feels less like a collection of standalone tracks and more like an immersive extension of the band’s constantly evolving creative identity.
