Knocked Loose Add Manchester Aftershow As Bryan Garris Shares Positive Bell’s Palsy Recovery Update

Share

Knocked Loose are keeping the momentum rolling across Europe and the UK, announcing a special late night Manchester headline show while offering fans a promising update on vocalist Bryan Garris’ recovery from Bell’s Palsy.

Kentucky heavyweights Knocked Loose have confirmed an unbarricaded aftershow performance at Manchester’s Albert Hall on June 27th as part of Outbreak Festival weekend. The intimate headline appearance follows a string of major arena and stadium dates alongside Metallica and Gojira, giving fans a rare chance to experience the band in a much smaller setting. Experimental punk outfit Lip Critic will open the show.

The announcement arrives alongside the second episode of the band’s ongoing tour documentary series, Wherever We May Roam, which chronicles life on the road during one of the biggest touring runs in the band’s career (per The PRP).

Setbacks

While the first episode revealed Garris had been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, the latest instalment documents another challenge for the band after guitarist Isaac Hale was reportedly struck by a car while crossing a street during the tour.

Despite the setback, both musicians have continued performing throughout the run, providing an update on his condition, Garris told fans he’s beginning to see encouraging signs of recovery.

“Hello, Bell’s Palsy update, we are on two and a half to three weeks since the diagnosis from the first video. I just want to say thank you to everybody that reached out with their concern. I’m doing fine. I’m experiencing no pain, just a lot of discomfort.”

The frontman admitted the condition initially worsened, affecting movement in parts of his face, but says progress is now being made:

“But since then it has actually gotten better. I woke up today feeling better than I have since the diagnosis. So I’m regaining some movement here… So yeah, hopefully this means we’re on the road to recovery.”

Garris also revealed he’s been undergoing acupuncture treatments and spending time in saunas to assist circulation during recovery. The band’s European trek continues throughout June, including more dates supporting Metallica and Gojira before the highly anticipated Manchester aftershow closes out the month.
