Citizen Share New Single ‘I Can See You From Here’ As Australian Tour Draws Closer

Ohio alternative rock favourites Citizen have shared another taste of their upcoming album Halcyon Blues, unveiling soaring new single ‘I Can See You From Here’ as the band prepare for their February 2027 Australian tour with Drug Church.

Set for release on Friday, August 7th via Run For Cover Records/Civilians, Halcyon Blues marks Citizen‘s latest evolution, blending the emotional weight of their early material with the expansive alternative rock sound they’ve refined over nearly two decades.

The latest single follows previously released tracks ‘Halcyon Blues’ and ‘Highs and Lows’, delivering another emotionally charged anthem driven by frontman Mat Kerekes’ unmistakable vocals, layered guitars and the band’s signature balance of melody and intensity.

Recorded by Kerekes and mixed by acclaimed engineer Tom Lord-Alge (U2, Weezer, Blink-182), the album reflects Citizen’s long standing commitment to growth rather than chasing trends.

Not chasing trends

“A lot of bands try to do anything they can to be the hottest thing of the moment and we’ve just never operated like that,” says guitarist Nick Hamm.

“We don’t think in moments, or months, or record cycles. Some bands end up getting sick of whatever walls they exist in, but I see Citizen as this long term creative project where there’s always somewhere new to go, and that’s kept me exhilarated through all these years. And we’ve trusted that people who like our band will want to come along. A lot of people grew with us and we’re really thankful for that.”

Fresh from their appearance at New Bloom Festival in 2024, Citizen will return to Australia in February 2027 with US hardcore outfit Drug Church joining them on every date, the run will see the band play Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in support of the new record.
