Pioneering ska-punk icons Fishbone are heading back to Australia for the first time in 15 years, announcing a four date national tour this September to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their landmark debut album, In Your Face.
Los Angeles outfit Fishbone will perform the classic record in full, while also digging deep into a catalogue that has made them one of alternative music’s most influential and genre defying bands.
The tour follows the release of Stockholm Syndrome, the band’s ninth studio album and their first full-length record in more than two decades, the album was released last year and sees Fishbone return with the same fearless social commentary and musical experimentation that helped define their career, tackling political issues alongside themes of relationships, resilience and redemption.

Blending punk, ska, funk and soul
Originally released in 1986, In Your Face remains a defining moment in the band’s history, introducing audiences to their explosive blend of punk, ska, funk and soul. Earlier this year, the album received a special 40th anniversary reissue, accompanied by the tribute compilation Cover Your Face, which features interpretations of Fishbone songs from artists including Patrick Stump, Wheatus and Silversun Pickups.
Across more than four decades, Fishbone have built a reputation as one of live music’s most unpredictable and energetic acts. Emerging from the vibrant Los Angeles punk scene, the band became renowned for confronting political and social issues through music while constantly pushing stylistic boundaries.
Despite navigating lineup changes and the evolving music industry, Fishbone have remained committed to their creative vision. Recent years have seen them share stages with Madness, Tool and Primus, while also returning to major festival circuits and headline tours throughout the United States and Europe.
