With Electric Callboy’s Australian tour alongside Ice Nine Kills just weeks away, the German genre benders have unleashed perhaps their most unexpected single yet.
The band has released ‘The Way You Are’, the latest taste of their forthcoming album TANZNEID, arriving on August 7th, and it’s every bit as chaotic as fans have come to expect.
Opening as a sugary late ’90s inspired boy band love ballad, the track quickly explodes into one of the heaviest songs Electric Callboy have ever recorded, massive deathcore breakdowns collide with soaring pop hooks in a way that only the band could pull off, continuing their trademark approach of smashing together genres with zero regard for convention.

Speaking about the new track, the band said:
“‘The Way You Are’ started with a pretty simple idea: what if the sweetest late-’90s boy band love ballad suddenly turned into one of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written? We loved playing with that contrast, both musically and visually. The result is probably one of the most unexpected songs we’ve ever released, and definitely one of our favorites on TANZNEID.”
The accompanying music video (above) follows the same unpredictable formula, what begins as a nostalgic boy band fantasy soon descends into a blood soaked horror spectacle, perfectly matching the song’s dramatic shift from glossy pop to crushing heaviness.
The single serves as the final preview of TANZNEID, which lands next week featuring previously released tracks including “RATATATA”, “Hypercharged”, “Still Waiting”, “Revery”, “Elevator Operator” and the album’s title track.
Beyond the new music, Electric Callboy are also wrapping up their World of TANZNEID global scavenger hunt, fans have been tracking mysterious Pink Boxes hidden around the world, with the final Golden Tickets offering lifetime entry for two people to every future Electric Callboy headline show worldwide.
