Former Stray From The Path frontman Drew Dijorio has hinted that fresh music could be on the horizon, giving fans their first glimpse at what life after the hardcore band’s split might look like.
Taking to social media (earlier today July 29th, US), Dijorio, also known as Drew York, revealed he’s currently developing a new project, though it appears to still be in the early stages.
While details remain scarce, the post confirms the former vocalist is actively writing and piecing together ideas following Stray From The Path’s departure from the scene last year (per Lamb Goat).
Rather than announcing a release date or lineup, Dijorio offered an honest look into the creative process, highlighting the many moving parts involved in launching a new musical venture.
He wrote:
“Working on new music but still have a lot to figure out.
When’s it dropping?
Am I singing on it?
Who’s gunna edit/write/play the drums?
Who’s gunna mix & master it?
A lot goes on in my brain all at once and that’s just scratching the surface. For now I’ll just tag the companies that have been helping me bring these ideas to life.”
Unanswered questions
The update leaves plenty of questions unanswered, including whether Dijorio will handle lead vocals himself or collaborate with other musicians, there’s also no indication yet of a project name, musical direction or release timeline.
Stray From The Path wrapped up its career last year after more than 20 years, leaving a lasting mark on the hardcore and metalcore scenes with their politically charged lyrics and relentless live performances.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what shape Dijorio’s next chapter takes, but it’s clear new music is already beginning to come together behind the scenes.
