Perfect timing

Mass Of The Fermenting Dregs are entering a new chapter with the release of their upcoming EP Iwaou, arriving this Friday, August 14th and marking the band’s first new project in four years.

Known for tightly arranged instrumentation, explosive dynamics and an ability to turn melodic alternative rock into something considerably more visceral, the band have developed a devoted following well beyond their home country.

Their sound draws influence from artists including The Smashing Pumpkins, The Wedding Present and Sugar, while their own catalogue has continued to evolve since the release of their self-titled EP in 2008.

That release kicked off a career that has seen Mass Of The Fermenting Dregs deliver acclaimed records including No New World in 2018 and Awakening in 2022, followed by their Live In Japan release in 2024.

Now, Iwaou offers the next step.

The new material is expected to bring the band’s trademark intensity into a fresh set designed specifically for their next chapter, making the upcoming Australian shows an ideal introduction for anyone yet to discover one of Japan’s most exciting live acts.

For existing fans, the opportunity to finally catch Mass Of The Fermenting Dregs on Australian soil has been a long time coming, the band will play intimate venues across the East Coast, kicking off at Brisbane’s Crowbar before heading to Sydney and Melbourne.
