Eivør Reflects On Love, Loss And The Walls Between Us With New Single “Verjugarðar / Walls”

Share

Faroese visionary Eivør has unveiled her latest single, “Verjugarðar / Walls”, offering another haunting glimpse into her forthcoming studio album Tungl, due October 16th via Nuclear Blast.

A dark electronic rock ballad steeped in catharsis, “Verjugarðar / Walls” explores what happens when two people become separated by the emotional barriers built to protect themselves. Eivørs expansive soundscaping gives the track a sense of weight and intimacy, moving between grief, longing and the possibility of hope.

Eivør reflects on the song:

“Verjugarðar / Walls is an epic and dark electronic rock ballad about two people who have lost what once bound them together behind walls of silence.
The paradox is that the walls we build to protect ourselves can also be the very walls that keep us apart. This is one of those songs that took me a few years to write, but when it suddenly fell into place, I just couldn’t stop singing it.”

“Verjugarðar / Walls” follows previous previews including “Drekafljóð / Dragon Maiden” and “Healer”, building anticipation for Tungl — Eivør’s first album for Nuclear Blast.

Meaning “moon” in Faroese, Tungl ventures further into the elemental and atmospheric territory explored on Eivør’s previous album Enn. Across 10 tracks, the record moves through tenderness, heartache, love and loss, using the moon as a guiding metaphor for transformation and renewal.

As Eivør explains:

“Tungl explores the ever-changing cycles of life – its songs move between moments of tenderness and heartache, love and loss, and the emotional tides that shape us. Like the moon that inspired its title, Tungl serves as a gentle guide through life’s darker passages, illuminating the beauty, resilience, and transformation found along the way.”
