No Life are back with new single ‘Labyrinth’, with the New Zealand metalcore outfit also preparing to drag their increasingly nasty collision of nu-metal and metalcore across Australia’s East Coast this October.
Originally formed in Christchurch before relocating permanently to Australia, No Life have spent the past few years carving out their own corner of the heavy scene. ‘Labyrinth’ continues that trajectory, leaning into thick grooves, electronics and the sort of breakdowns designed to turn cramped rooms into considerably less organised places.
Mixed and mastered by Michael Campbell at Crucible Sound, the track digs into the feeling of being mentally trapped, lost inside your own head and unable to find a clean route back out.

It also arrives during a productive stretch for the quartet.
Recent singles have included ‘Foulmouth’, ‘One Hitter’ featuring ten56.’s Aaron Matts and Luka Rozaka, and ‘Obnoxious’, which brought Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri into the fold.
The latter also caught the attention of Metal Hammer, which described the collaboration as ‘pure venomous rage, perfect if you’re wondering where the subgenre’s spikier, nastier edges have gone’.
No Life Are Taking ‘Labyrinth’ On The Road
Rather than leaving the new material trapped on streaming services, No Life are taking it directly into Australian venues next month.
The band will launch ‘Labyrinth’ across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne during an East Coast run alongside Deadskin and Plague of the Fallen, beginning at Brisbane’s Tomcat on October 2nd.
It adds another chapter to a live résumé that has already put No Life alongside Silent Planet, While She Sleeps, Alpha Wolf, Make Them Suffer, To The Grave, Ocean Grove, Graphic Nature and No Face No Case.
There’s an obvious lineage running through No Life’s combination of metalcore, nu-metal and electronics, but the interesting part is how increasingly comfortable they sound twisting those pieces into something uglier of their own.
For a band that only formed in 2021, that evolution has happened quickly.
‘Labyrinth’ is another solid indication of where No Life are heading next, and judging by the amount of groove packed into it, hearing the thing inside a small Australian room should be an entirely different proposition.
