Christmas has come early for Australian hardcore fans, quite literally, as Sydney stalwarts Speed have locked in details for their annual Christmas show.
Normally taking place in December to coincide with the festive season, this year the show will be taking place on Friday, November the 13th – likely to not interfere with the band’s appearance on the line-up for this year’s Good Things festival.
The show will take place at the soon-to-open Powerhouse Parramatta, which marks a western expansion for the Sydney museum group. Joining Speed on the bill will be Justice for the Damned, Ends in Tragedy, Time Ends and Paid In Full.
All ticketholders are required to bring at least one of two types of item as part of a pledge drive for the Sydney non-profit Project Kindness: Non-perishable food or a new, in-packet toy.
Examples of the former include pasta, muesli bars, two-minute noodles, biscuits, rice and crackers. Toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby wpies and deodorant will also be accepted.
The drive will accept any unopened toys, games, children’s books, small soft toys and children’s clothing. These items will all be provided to vulnerable families in need over the holidays. For more information on Project Kindness, visit their website.
In addition to the donations, Speed have also pledged a $10,000 donation to the Women and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) – based in Redfern in inner Sydney. The centre self-describes as “a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community”.

After largely being absent from Australia for most of 2026, Speed will play their first hometown show in almost a year next month as part of Surplus Sydney. They are slated to perform an outdoor, all-ages event at the National Art School alongside Thai hardcore band Whispers on Saturday, October 17th.
