Powderfinger Reveal 18-Date 2027 Australian Reunion Tour

Powderfinger’s Live 27 reunion tour will visit six Australian cities, with shows staged beneath a custom-built, stadium-sized big top.

Powderfinger have officially unveiled their full Live 27 reunion tour, confirming 18 Australian shows across six cities between September and October 2027.

Following Friday’s reunion announcement, as previously reported by Blunt, the Brisbane rock veterans have revealed an unconventional setup for their long-awaited return. Rather than traditional arenas, the concerts will take place beneath a custom-built, stadium-sized big top, with capacities of up to 13,000 fans per show.

The tour kicks off in Brisbane on 3 September before heading to Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, wrapping up on 30 October. The band has described the travelling production as part festival, part spectacle, with seated and standing ticket options available.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Powderfinger explained why the time finally felt right to return to the stage.

“We are absolutely ecstatic to be coming together to play again,” the band said. “Over the years there have been tons of suggestions for us to go back on the road but, until now, it never felt quite right or lined up for all of us.”

The band also acknowledged the generations of fans who have discovered their music since their farewell tour, including their own children, who were too young to attend their previous shows.

Powderfinger have confirmed that the tour will feature exclusively Australian support acts, with different artists joining them across the country. The line-up is expected to be announced in November, coinciding with Ausmusic Month.

The band has also partnered with Mission Australia to raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness, with further details of the initiative to be announced.
