Rammstein have shared a new live performance of ‘Deutschland’ ahead of their concert film’s Australian cinema release on 4 November.
Rammstein aren’t exactly known for doing things on a small scale, and their latest concert film looks unlikely to break that tradition. Rammstein – Live in Mexico City is heading to Australian cinemas on Wednesday, 4 November, bringing the German industrial metal band’s stadium spectacle to the big screen.
The band have also shared an official live performance of ‘Deutschland’, released on 23 October, offering another taste of what’s in store ahead of the theatrical release.
Director Paul Dugdale combines footage from three sold-out Rammstein concerts at Mexico City’s Foro Sol. Held on 1, 2 and 4 October 2022, the shows drew nearly 200,000 fans altogether.
The 110-minute theatrical release features 20 songs, including ‘Du Hast’, ‘Sonne’, ‘Ich Will’ and the Mexico City finale ‘Te Quiero Puta!’. The theatrical cut is shorter than the original concert. Rammstein will release an extended, 142-minute Blu-ray version on 20 November.
Both versions are advertised with Dolby Atmos sound, although the cinema experience will depend on each venue’s equipment. Given Rammstein’s fondness for industrial-scale production, this is one concert film worth checking your local cinema’s sound system for.
