Thornhill will headline and curate Surf’s Up! Festival in Melbourne next February, bringing Stand Atlantic, Alpha Wolf and a hand-picked lineup of Australian and US acts to Riviera Beach Club.
Presented by Destroy All Lines, the 18+ event takes place on Saturday, February 20th, 2027, with Sace6, Justice For The Damned, Varials, Headwreck, Bloom and Blinder completing the nine-act bill.
Polaris put together the venue’s Life’s A Beach event in February, and Thornhill will choose the bill for the next instalment. Their turn comes after this year’s BODIES Australian tour, bringing the band back to Melbourne for a show by the water.
“We’re bringing SURF’S UP! Festival to life. Personally curated by the 4 of us, we are stoked to be joined by some of the best names in Australian heavy music. Expect big riffs, good times and a whole lot of energy. Melbourne, we’ll see you in February!” Thornhill said.
Stand Atlantic and Alpha Wolf lead the support bill, with Sace6 and Varials joining from the US. There’s also a strong spread of Australian acts, from Sydney’s Justice For The Damned and Bloom to Brisbane’s Headwreck and Adelaide’s Blinder.
Sace6 will also be in Australia supporting Dayseeker in February, giving fans another chance to catch the duo following their debut album brutalist. Varials return after touring here with Spite, while Headwreck have a Good Things Festival appearance ahead of them in December.
Thornhill released their third album, BODIES, in 2025, following 2019’s The Dark Pool and 2022’s Heroine. This time, all four members have had a say in who joins them, building a full festival around their headline appearance.
