Caloundra’s Kings Beach Tavern packed itself in for an adrenaline-filled night on Saturday as C.O.F.F.I.N took the stage, closing out their Australian tour.
Sydney punk group C.O.F.F.I.N is known for their rip-roaring live shows, and you better believe everyone at the King’s Beach Tavern in Brisbane last Saturday were expecting nothing less than an adrenaline-packed experience. If a shirt went home unsoaked in sweat, did you even go to a C.O.F.F.I.N gig?
Saturday’s performance was a special one, as it marked the band’s final show for this National tour. But the drain of touring could not be seen in the band – they brought nothing but their absolute best, and were keen to end the tour with a bang.
Lead vocalist and drummer Dave Portnoy mystified the audience with his multi-tasking skills, entrancing us with his eclectic voice and relentless drumming. But never the show off, the frontman kept the energy going throughout the entire show with precise focus.
The band opened with the powerful track ‘Cut You Off’, which flipped the crowd like a switch. Immediately, punters were forming the pit, ready for the marathon C.O.F.F.I.N were about to take us on.
By the time the band came out for their final track, everyone knew their knees were going to hurt tomorrow, so we might as well send it one last time.
Here’s the setlist from the night:
- Cut You Off
- Lover’s Leash
- Done By The Dogs
- Keep It Dark
- Cum in the Street
- City Sun
- Give Me A Bite
- Riff Raff (AC/DC cover)
- Beasts
- Dead Land
- Night Breaker
- Locals Only
- Fast Love
- White Dog
- Through the Sewer
The Aussie hard rock band have wrapped their National tour, and are gearing up to head over to End of The Road Festival in Dorset, England on 28 August. The band will then play at Manchester Psych Fest, alongside Tropical Fuck Storm, before embarking on a European tour starting in Germany.
