Simple Plan brought their 25th anniversary world tour to The Pavilion stage at Toyota Music Factory last week, gracing the Texas audience with a nostalgic array of early 2000s pop-punk hits. Joined by Bowling For Soup, 3OH!3 and LØLØ, Simple Plan put on a genre-defining show, showcasing why pop-punk belongs to everyone.

Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Simple Plan brought their highly anticipated Bigger Than You Think! Tour to The Pavilion stage at Toyota Music Factory last week. The night was a roudy celebration of some of pop-punk’s most prolific acts from the 2000s, including Bowling For Soup, 3OH!3 and up-and-comer LØLØ.

The night started with opening act LØLØ, who set the tone perfectly at the start of the night. Despite some technical difficulties, she won the crowd over with her emotive vocals, eventually winning everyone over with some old-fashioned crowd participation.

Next up were the ever-chaotic 3OH!3 who blasted onto the stage with their track ‘PunkB*tch’, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The group would close their set with the classic ‘Don’t Trust Me’, which the group would joke was “Their favourite Simple Plan song”.

Finally, Bowling For Soup took the stage, gracing their hometown of Irving, Texas. The setlist was filled with some of the band’s most nostalgic hits and leaned into their famous sense of humour. At one point during the set, the band broke into Fountains of Wayne’s ‘Stacy’s Mom’, which has falsely been attributed to Texas outfit over the years.

Finally, Simple Plan took command of the stage. As the opening chords of “I’d Do Anything” dramatically echoed throughout the Toyota Music Factory, the crowd exploded and was nowhere near running out of energy, despite being three acts deep into the night.

Frontman Pierre Bouvier didn’t miss a step the entire night, his relentless energy not giving the audience a moment of reprieve as he’d climb speakers and throw giant beach balls into the crowd.

Closing on the sentimental track ‘Perfect’, thousands lit up their phone lights to fill the venue and share one final intimate moment with the band that night. Simple Plan were there to celebrate 25 years of youthful rebellion, and said here’s to another 25 more.
