And just like that, the wait is over: Hardcore godfathers Cro-Mags have returned with their first anthology of new material in almost two decades. In The Beginning is now appearing on shelves – both digital and physical – on this day of days.
To mark Cro-Mags’ long-awaited return to the fold, Blunt Magazine in cahoots with Mission Two Entertainment are giving one lucky Australian Cro-Mags fan the ultimate hook up – a limited edition vinyl pressing of In The Beginning, the only copy coming to Australia that’s signed by Harley himself, as well as some new threads in the form of a fresh Cro-Mags long sleeve, as pictured above.

Those who follow the band, and its iconic frontman Harley Flanagan, will know all too well that In The Beginning was a hard fought album, and one to be celebrated as such. Through court battles – and physical ones – Flanagan moved heaven and earth to ensure his band had a future and we, the fans, got more material to sink our teeth into.
The new album cycle was ushered into the world with the release of ‘From The Grave’ featuring’s Motörhead Phil Campbell. The track demonstrated just how much fury Cro-Mags have retained throughout the years and proved the rough and tumble sound of iconic New York hardcore not only has a place in today’s music scene but a place high atop Mt. Heavy Music.
One of the founding figures of the Hardcore scene, Harley cut his teeth as a pre-teen drummer in the trenches of New York’s underground music scene. Now a BJJ Blackbelt and professor, he sows his wisdom in many spheres.
Now armed with the legal rights to the band which he founded, and the new sense of purpose that comes with that, its safe to say we’ll be hearing and seeing plenty more of Cro-Mags.
