Update: Now with added Season Of The Flood official music video!
Original article: Lock down restrictions might be easing in some parts of the world this weekend, but there’s plenty of reasons to not rush outside just yet and Canada’s favourite sons Alexisonfire have provided perhaps the might tantalising.
The post-hardcore troupe have announced a livestream watch party going down on this very day of days, confirming they’ll use the opportunity to debut the official video for ‘Season Of The Flood’. This is set to be a particularly resonating moment between fans and the band, given that the production was powered by fan-submitted footage from shows throughout Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver as the band meandered through Canada earlier this year.
‘Season Of The Flood’ kicked off our year right, and came hot on the heels of last year’s ‘Familiar Drugs’ and ‘Complicit’. Together, the three tracks make the first batch of new material from the beloved ensemble in damn near a decade.
Following on from the video premiere, all members of the band will be jumping into the e-fray, joining fans to watch on and no doubt provide some slick commentary for a performance from 2012 that was immortalised in their 2016 release Live At Copps.
It’s been somewhat quiet on the Alexis front since the release of ‘Season Of The Flood’, no doubt due to the current Unpleasantness and it seems fans have noticed – with still 5 hours to go at the time of publish, a small crowd of people are already waiting.
Last weekend, fans of this world were spoiled with the Fearless From Home live stream, yet another in a series of fantastic opportunities for fans and bands to stay as a united front.
For the early birds, the live stream will be kicking off at 11am AEST and for those who prefer a sleep-in, we’ll be sure to update this article with all the goodies, you lazy so-and-so’s.
