Amyl And The Sniffers To Play The Governors Ball As Local Acts Make Strong Showing

Amyl and the Sniffers join a stacked lineup of Aussie and NZ artists heading to New York’s Governors Ball.

Amyl and the Sniffers have been confirmed for the 2026 edition of New York’s Governors Ball, landing another major international booking as their global profile continues to exponentially grow. The Melbourne punk act will take the stage at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens when the festival runs from June 5 to June 7.

The announcement places Amyl and the Sniffers among a solid contingent of Australian and New Zealand artists on the bill. The Beths, Lorde, Spacey Jane, Old Mervs, Confidence Man and Radio Free Alice will be joining them, making for a strong presence from the region across the weekend.

The Governors Ball, long regarded as one of the most influential multi-genre festivals in the US, has built its reputation on mixing chart-topping headliners with emerging and left-of-centre acts. The 2026 lineup is headlined by Lorde, Stray Kids and A$AP Rocky, with each artist set to close out one night of the festival. Amyl and The Sniffers will play on the Saturday of the event.

They’ll be performing alongside a wide-ranging list of international artists, including Kali Uchis, Baby Keem, Katseye, Pierce the Veil, Mariah the Scientist, the Dare, King Princess, 2Hollis, Wet Leg, Jennie, Major Lazer, Turnover, Geese, Holly Humberstone, Dominic Fike, and a whole lot more.

For Amyl and the Sniffers, The Governors Ball booking follows a period of significant momentum overseas and on home soil. Over the past year, the band earned their first Grammy nomination, appeared at major European festivals including Reading & Leeds and Glastonbury, collaborated with Fred again.., and made their late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Their success has also remained strong at home. Amyl and the Sniffers secured a high-profile support slot with AC/DC, made headlines when crowds flocked to see their free (and unfortunately cancelled) gig at Federation Square, and had a standout showing at the 2025 ARIA Awards. The Governors Ball appearance now adds another major international milestone to the list.
