Amyl and the Sniffers took over The Tonight Show with a riotous performance of “Tiny Bikini”, thongs and all, as their whirlwind year continues to snowball.
Amyl and the Sniffers have officially made their first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, tearing through their track “Tiny Bikini” in front of a primetime US audience.
On tour across North America, the Melbourne punks stopped by the iconic New York studio to unleash their latest single from third album Cartoon Darkness. Amy Taylor, never one to miss a moment to cause a stir, hit the stage in a DIY top made of thongs – yes, the Aussie kind – giving American viewers a very loud taste of home.
Their Tonight Show debut is the latest in a string of major wins for Amyl and the Sniffers this year. March saw them on the cover of Rolling Stone AU/NZ, just weeks before they picked up two trophies at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards for Best LP/EP and Best Live Act. In April, they were handed Song of the Year at the APRA Awards for “U Should Not Be Doing That”, too.

Amyl and the Sniffers name has been stamped across international festival lineups too, including a thunderous set at Coachella and a soon-to-be ticked-off slot at Glastonbury.
Taylor’s fire remains undimmed. “I want to make people proud,” she told Rolling Stone. “I want them to be like, ‘Fuck yeah, those guys did it. The music industry is dying and somehow those four fuckwits have done something good.’”
She also addressed the mental toll of putting it all on display. “You’re risking everything – physically, emotionally, spiritually – every time you show up in public. If people want to bitch, go for it. Just make sure you’re bitching about us killing it.”
As they continue their run through the US, Amyl and the Sniffers are showing no signs of slowing down.
