British metalcore giants Architects have confirmed their 11th studio album, The Sky, The Earth & All Between, will be released on February 28, 2025, via Epitaph Records.

Along with the announcement, the band has unveiled their third single from the album, Whiplash. The track premiered earlier today as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record. Produced by Jordan Fish, Whiplash blends heavy riffs, intense breakdowns, and Sam Carter’s ferocious vocals. The track offers a catchy chorus amid its crushing heaviness. It’s a signature Architects anthem, combining melody and raw power.

The band also dropped a cinematic video for Whiplash, shot in Slovenia. Drummer Dan Searle explained, “We’ve long admired director ‘Specter’ for his work with Rammstein, so it was exciting to work with him. His visual concept really brings the song’s message to life in a unique way.”

The song addresses themes of division and tribalism. Searle added, “It gave us the chance to explore these ideas in a way we haven’t before. It’s the first time in a while we’ve written something this ferocious.” Sam Carter later shared, “We’re so happy to be back. This track is us at our very best, and we think fans will love it.” Whiplash follows the band’s previous singles, Seeing Red and Curse, both of which now have over 70 million streams.

Formed in 2004, Architects have spent nearly two decades shaping the UK’s metalcore scene. Their breakthrough came with 2009’s Hollow Crown, which established their signature blend of crushing riffs and melodic hooks. Over the years, the band has continued to evolve, experimenting with new sounds while maintaining the intensity that has won them a devoted fanbase worldwide. With a string of successful albums, including All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us (2016).

Since their 2022 album The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit, Architects have seen their success blossom even further. They have since toured with the likes of Metallica and performed at major festivals like Download and Bloodstock. In 2025, the band are also set to join Linkin Park for their summer stadium tour. It all seems to be looking up from here.
