August Burns Red’s return to Australia and New Zealand just got a local injection of talent.

The Gloom In The Corner

For anyone familiar with The Gloom In The Corner’s reputation, this isn’t exactly a quiet replacement.

Known for turning metalcore into something theatrical, immersive and genuinely unpredictable, the Melbourne group have spent years building one of the more distinctive identities in Australian heavy music.

Their latest album Royal Discordance arrived earlier this year and pushed their cinematic world building even further, earning praise for its scale and ambition while expanding beyond the band’s already out there foundations.

They’ll hit the road fresh off new material and a touring history that includes runs alongside Wage War, Make Them Suffer, AngelMaker and Aviana.

Fallweather

Joining them is fellow Melbourne outfit Fallweather, whose sound taps into early 2000s post-hardcore while pulling in modern heaviness from across the Australian scene, the band recently released Mourn, the latest preview of their debut album Because You Were Here, due August 19th.

Their growing live profile has already seen them share stages with LANDMVRKS, Senses Fail and Saosin, with recent performances earning attention for balancing melodic hooks with heavier moments.

As for August Burns Red, the GRAMMY Award-nominated metalcore veterans return down under this September for a full Australian headline run before crossing into New Zealand for their first performances there in more than a decade.

Expect breakdowns, precision and absolutely zero interest in easing into spring.
