For the patriots among us (myself included) I come bearing the good news. At Glastonbury 2025, you will be able to see some homegrown talent each day of the festival.
Glastonbury, a festival which has long been the benchmark of success in the music industry, pulls artists from all across the globe. It’s quite literally only the cream of the crop of music that performs there. The 2025 edition of the festival is no exception.
The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, and Deftones have been locked in as headliners. But flying the flag for Australia are some of the country’s most exciting names. It again just proves just how strong the scene is right now.
Opening day will see Melbourne’s Glass Beams take the stage. Led by the enigmatic, masked Rajan Silva, the act has been making waves internationally and just landed a global publishing deal with Concord Music Publishing ANZ.
Day two brings Amyl and the Sniffers, fresh off the release of their third album Cartoon Darkness, which cracked the UK Top 10 and earned them a Brit Award nomination for Best International Group. Frontwoman Amy Taylor and crew have already built a cult following in the UK, making their set one to watch.
Sydney duo Royel Otis will play on day three, riding the momentum of a breakout year. With ARIA wins, a Billboard Hot 100 hit, and a top 10 Aussie album under their belts, they’re on track for a massive 2025. The band recently locked themselves away for writing sessions, with a follow-up to 2024’s Pratts & Pain potentially in the works.
Adding to the Aussie presence, Parcels will also make an appearance at Glasto this year. The Byron Bay-bred, Berlin-based outfit has carved out a reputation for their slick, disco-infused sound. Their inclusion cements Australia’s ability to make waves on the world’s biggest festival stages.
While Australian festivals struggle to stay afloat, Glastonbury operates in its own league. Since 1970, the festival has been a rite of passage, drawing over 200,000 punters to Pilton each year, rain or shine. Tickets for this year’s event sold out in just 35 minutes, well before the lineup was even revealed. Cost of living crisis? Mud up to your knees? Doesn’t matter—Glasto remains untouchable, and in 2025, Aussie acts will be right in the thick of it.
