American prog- rock band, Coheed and Cambria are back with their 10th studio album, The Father of Make Believe. Due for release on March 14, 2025 via Virgin Music Group, fans do not have long to prepare.
The album is set to pick up the story of The Amory Wars, a comic book series created by the band frontman, Claudio Sanchez. This album comes after the band’s last release, Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind in 2022.
To kick things off, the band has released their first single, Searching for Tomorrow. Alongside the single, the band have also released a gripping animated music video that unveils a new villain in the Amory Wars realm. “This song is a reminder that always looking for something better in your life robs you of being able to appreciate the good things you already have” Sanchez noted. “Always searching for something better robs you of appreciating what you have,” says Sanchez.
The band is offering a limited edition deluxe box set for die-hard fans. It includes a fully wearable helmet, a hardback novella, and a signed “Death Certificate of Siv Trafinder.” The box set is available for pre-order now from here.
Upon reflecting on the album, Sanchez admits that The Father of Make Believe was tough to create. “Following Window was difficult, but the struggle was worth it,” he explains. The album dives deep into his personal life and career, exploring the emotional battles he’s faced throughout.
In 2025, Coheed and Cambria will hit the road for several major events. These include the Tool in the Sand festival and the S.S. Neverender cruise. They’ll also perform at 2000 Trees in the UK. Known for their boundary-pushing sound and storytelling, The Father of Make Believe promises to be another bold chapter in their career. While no Australian dates have yet been announced we will keep you in the loop if they are.
But in the meantime, get ready, Coheed and Cambria are nearly upon us.
