Liam Gallagher confirms he’s officially back in Oasis rehearsals, calling the sessions “fucking filthy” ahead of the band’s massive reunion tour.
It’s official: Liam Gallagher has joined Oasis rehearsals for their first live shows together in 16 years. The long-rumoured reunion is finally in motion, with the band gearing up for a massive international tour that includes UK stadiums, and a confirmed leg in Australia later this year.
The Britpop giants will kick things off in the UK and Ireland this July, including a staggering seven-nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, with Richard Ashcroft and Cast. Australian dates are also locked in across October and November.
While Noel Gallagher and the rest of the reunited lineup – Gem Archer, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, keyboardist Mikey Rowe and bassist Andy Bell – were spotted entering a London studio last month, Liam was noticeably absent. He was reportedly holidaying in the south of France, resting ahead of what promises to be a massive world tour.
But on June 3, Liam confirmed that he’d officially joined Oasis rehearsals, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “We have LIFT OFF Rastas sounded fucking FILTHY I’ll tell thee that there for hardly anything LG x”
When a fan asked if it was emotional playing with everyone again after 16 years, Liam replied, “No time to get emotional we have a lot of catching up to do.” Asked if he was nervous, his response was blunt: “Don’t be ridiculous.”
He went on to describe the experience of rehearsing as Oasis again as “BIBLICAL”, and when asked if they sounded amazing, simply said, “cmon”.
It’s believed the Gallagher brothers are intentionally keeping their reunion low-key until the first show on July 4 in Cardiff. The last time they were seen together was back in April at a working men’s club in London’s Newington Green, reportedly filming for an upcoming Adidas campaign.
With Liam now firmly back in the fold, the countdown is well and truly on. Oasis are back, and according to the frontman, they’re sounding “fucking filthy”.
