My Chemical Romance have dominated Good Things 2026 speculation for months. With the lineup dropping at 10am today, the Blunt Meter has now swung violently the other way.
For months, My Chemical Romance have been the internet’s favourite Good Things 2026 theory.
Blunt isn’t convinced anymore.
With the Good Things 2026 lineup finally arriving at 10am today, our final pre-announcement read has moved harder than at any point in the rumour cycle.
Limp Bizkit: 97%
My Chemical Romance: 2%.
And no, that isn’t because another fake festival poster landed on Reddit.
How Did MCR Become A Favourite?
The My Chemical Romance theory was never stupid. In fact, on paper, it made a lot of sense.
Australia was missing from the band’s wider 2026 world tour plans, while their current Asian run finishes in Jakarta on November 22. That leaves enough room to get to Australia before Good Things opens in Melbourne on December 4.
From there, the rumour snowballed.
The Note went digging through Reddit earlier this year and found dozens of fan-made Good Things posters with the same recurring idea: My Chemical Romance sitting at the top of the bill.
Even as recently as August 6, The Music still had MCR in its “Who Could Be Playing” category, pointing to that November Asian routing and the fact the band has not played Australia since 2023.
All reasonable evidence. None of it was confirmation.
That distinction matters now.
The MCR Meter Has Collapsed
Nothing in My Chemical Romance’s public schedule rules Good Things out. The dates still work.
But a workable schedule only tells us something could happen. It does not tell us that it will.
New information obtained by Blunt in the final hours before the announcement has materially changed our assessment. We are not treating the public MCR routing as proof of a booking when our reporting is now pointing strongly in the opposite direction.
There is another signal that is harder to dismiss.
The Breaking Through Podcast, which has been tracking the Good Things rumour cycle for months, recently said it no longer believes My Chemical Romance will appear on the lineup.
That prediction would normally be just another voice in the pile.
Except Good Things itself reshared it.
An official festival account amplifying somebody saying MCR won’t play is not the same thing as a denial. Festivals love feeding speculation, and social media teams know exactly what they’re doing in the final hours before a lineup drops.
But when we’re trying to work out which way the signals are pointing, it matters.
So the Meter moves.

We’re leaving two points on the board because festival lineups have a habit of making fools out of anyone who gets too comfortable. But at this point, we would be extremely surprised to see MCR on the poster at 10am.
Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit Keeps Getting Louder
Limp Bizkit have travelled in the opposite direction.The band have also been unusually active in the lead-up, recently reviving ‘Stuck’ live for the first time in more than a decade while the Good Things rumours have kept building.
Back in June, Blunt gave Limp Bizkit a 78 per cent chance of appearing at Good Things based largely on a suspiciously clean December touring route.
The band play Kuala Lumpur on December 9, only three days after Good Things wraps in Brisbane on December 6. They then continue to Johannesburg on December 13. Australia to Malaysia to South Africa fits. There are still no known conflicting dates across the Good Things weekend.
The Music has also kept Limp Bizkit in the possible column, noting reports that the band dropped a side-eye emoji beneath Good Things’ own 2026 dates post.
Then Fred Durst Showed Up
Blunt has been watching Limp Bizkit for months.
Apparently Fred Durst has been watching Blunt too.
Durst has interacted directly with Blunt’s Limp Bizkit coverage on two separate occasions. The first came beneath our coverage of the band’s Morning Boy UFO merch launch, where he dropped a UFO emoji.
The second was much harder to ignore.
Blunt published a post noting Limp Bizkit’s “suspiciously convenient December schedule” and explicitly said Good Things Festival speculation was heating up.
Fred Durst then turned up in the comments with the Eyes emoji: 👀:
An emoji is not a festival announcement. But the frontman of the band personally engaging with a post that explicitly connects Limp Bizkit to Good Things is a much more interesting signal than a random social like.
Combined with the touring route, the wider Australian speculation and Blunt’s own reporting, it is enough to move the Meter again.
