Metallica’s return to Australia and New Zealand this month wasn’t just about stadium shaking riffs and pyro, the band used their time Down Under to quietly invest in the communities hosting them.
Through the All Within My Hands foundation (AWMH), Metallica donated to local organisations in every city on their November 2025 run, continuing their long standing commitment to supporting food banks and community services around the world.
Backing Local Support Services City by City
AWMH confirms that Metallica made donations to two organisations in each tour city, working alongside Live Nation Australia to identify local groups focused on feeding people and delivering crucial support services.
Here’s what has been officially confirmed by AWMH:
Perth
- Foodbank WA
- 55 Central
Adelaide
- Foodbank SA & NT
- Catherine House
Melbourne
- Foodbank Victoria
- Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre
Brisbane
- Foodbank Queensland
- Second Chance Programme
Sydney
- Foodbank NSW & ACT
- Womens Community Shelters
Auckland
AWMH’s official posts for each city highlight the organisations and their work, noting that Metallica’s support aims to help people facing food insecurity, homelessness, and crisis situations. While the foundation lists all recipient organisations publicly, specific donation amounts have not been published for these tour stops.
Part of a Larger Australian Campaign
Metallica’s charitable activity in Australia this year also included the ‘Bleeding Me’ international blood donation campaign, run in partnership with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. The band promoted the drive ahead of their Australian shows, encouraging fans to donate blood throughout the tour period.
Metallica’s First Australian Shows Since 2013
This run marks Metallica’s first visit since headlining Soundwave Festival 2013, with the November stadium shows pulling massive crowds across Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland. The American metal icons were joined by Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies on the tour, a stacked lineup that leaned into heavy nostalgia and modern power in equal measure.
A Tradition of Giving Back
Metallica’s philanthropy has become a defining part of their global touring cycle. AWMH regularly partners with food banks and community support services in each city the band visits, aiming to leave a positive impact wherever they go. The Australia and New Zealand donations continue that tradition, grounded in practical support rather than grandstanding.
