Sid Wilson Reportedly Kicked Out of Slipknot After More Than 25 Years

Share

Sid Wilson has reportedly been kicked out of Slipknot after more than 25 years with the masked metal band.

TMZ reports that Wilson was notified late Friday afternoon that he had been permanently removed from the group, citing a source described as close to the band and possessing direct knowledge of the situation. The reason behind the reported decision has not been disclosed.

Neither Slipknot nor Wilson has issued a public statement confirming the report at the time of writing. That means the news remains attributed to TMZ rather than officially announced by either party.

Sid Wilson’s place in Slipknot

Wilson joined Slipknot in the late 1990s and became known within the band as #0. His turntables, samples, masks and chaotic physical presence helped shape both Slipknot’s sound and its live identity across more than two decades.

Although every member of Slipknot contributes to the band’s broader mythology, Wilson has long occupied a particularly unpredictable role. His stage dives, improvised movements and abrasive electronic textures became part of the visual and sonic language that separated Slipknot from other heavy bands of the era.

If confirmed, Wilson’s removal would represent another major lineup shift for a band that has already undergone several high-profile personnel changes throughout its history.

No reason or replacement announced

No explanation has yet been reported for the decision, and there has been no announcement regarding a possible replacement. It is also unclear whether the reported change will affect Slipknot’s upcoming plans, performances or future recordings.

Until either Slipknot or Wilson speaks publicly, those details remain unknown. The absence of an immediate official statement does not disprove the report, but it does mean the circumstances surrounding the alleged split should not be filled in with guesses about personal conflict, contracts, health or the band’s internal direction.

Wilson has been part of Slipknot for nearly the entirety of the band’s international career, making any confirmed departure a significant moment for both the group and its fanbase.

BLUNT will update this story if Slipknot, Sid Wilson or an authorised representative responds to the report.
