Slowdive are heading back to Australia in 2025. Following their sold-out run in 2023, the shoegaze icons will return in April and May for a five-date tour, bringing New York’s Beach Fossils along for the ride.
Kicking off in Perth on April 30, the tour will hit Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane, with Slowdive taking over some of the country’s most iconic venues. Fans can expect a setlist spanning their career, from the genre-defining Souvlaki to their latest record, everything is alive. The latter of which was praised by the Guardian as “exquisite songs from the comeback kids of shoegaze.”
Formed in 1989, Slowdive helped shape the shoegaze movement with their lush, reverb-soaked sound. After an extended hiatus, they returned in 2017 with a self-titled album that introduced them to a new generation of fans. Their latest effort, everything is alive, continues their legacy, blending dreamy atmospheres with the weight of experience.
Joining them are Beach Fossils, marking their first time in Australia since 2023. The Brooklyn outfit became a defining act of the 2010s indie underground, pairing hazy melodies with introspective lyricism. Tracks like ‘Down the Line’ and ‘Sleep Apnea’ cemented their reputation for creating music that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this tour is a rare chance to see one of shoegaze’s most influential acts alongside a band that’s carried the spirit of dream pop into the modern era.
Pre-sale tickets go live Wednesday, February 12 at 9am local time, with general sales opening Friday, February 14 at 9am local time via Destroy All Lines.
