TSIM – known erroneously in some circles as TISM – have revealed an extensive list of bands that will be joining them on their first national headlining tour since 1996, the ‘No Mistakes‘ tour.
The 11-date run is set to kick off at the Odeon Theatre in Hobart next month on Thursday, October 1st and conclude at the UniBar in Wollongong on Friday, November 7th.
It includes three shows at Melbourne’s Forum, two of which are sold out, as well as two nights at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. The full list of tour dates, as well as the line-ups for each show, can be found below.
Joining Rowville’s premier sardonist alternative-rock band for three separate shows will be Melbourne punks Laura & The Hell Cutz, who will open the first of the three Forum shows and serve as main support for both Sydney dates.
The self-described “rage girl grunge” band recently released their debut EP, Teethe, and have also garnered support slots for the likes of Getdown Services and Mudhoney.
Other support acts for the tour include Totally Unicorn, who will play their first show in almost ten months as main support in Wollongong, as well as the brilliantly-named comedy-funk showman Stupid Fuck The Silly Clown in Melbourne and Oscar The Wild – who have previously supported bands as eclectic as AC/DC, Bloc Party, Ash and Grinspoon – in Adelaide.
As previously revealed by the band, the ‘No Mistakes’ tour consists of “two very different shows – different songs, different costumes [and] totally different vibes”.
“The band have pulled a few real gems out of the catalogue – songs many fans won’t have heard live, with some of the songs having not been performed for 40 years,” a statement read at the time.
“The new tour… will not replicate the recent Adelaide and Darwin standalone festival shows, so fans will not need to fear having giant cardboard skulls thrown out into the audience; the danger, however, of Les [Miserables] or Ron [Hitler Barassi] launching themselves into the moshpit, remains.”
The tour follows on from a two-night stand the band undertook at the Sydney Opera House back in April, which infamously ended in the band reportedly doing over $18,000 worth in damages according to a report by the ABC. For their part, the band “strenuously den[ied] responsibility for any damage” in their own statement.
“TSIM do not know who is to blame, but we note that on Saturday April 11 [the date in-between the two TSIM shows], Sir Donald Runnicles led the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in a dramatic performance of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony in the Concert Hall, featuring the legendary, pounding ‘hammer blows of fate’. Enough said.”
