Share

After dropping their new EP only weeks ago, Turnstile caused an uproar even they hadn’t anticipated. blink-182 and Angels and Airwaves savant Tom DeLonge took some time out of his busy schedule to call them “the new shape of Punk to come”, and Hayley Williams did the same, sharing her wish for the outfit “to be the biggest hardcore/punk band in the world.” Luckily for us, the Turnstile Love Connection extended play was only just the start of it, with the band detailing their new album, Glow On, today.

Set to drop on August 27th via Roadrunner Records, the band also shared single ‘Alien Love Call’ featuring Blood Orange, which you can check out below. The accompanying clip is made up of Hi8 live performance footage directed and edited by frontman Brendan Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory, if you weren’t impressed enough by what the act have put together of late. You might remember that the short film for last month’s Turnstile Love Connection release was also directed by Yates, and you can check that out here after it premiered in cinemas to coincide with the return of the Baltimore legends.

Yates took on co-producer duties for Glow On alongside Grammy-award winning producer Mike Elizondo, who has worked with the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and twenty one pilots in addition to Eminem and 50 Cent. It’s a diverse range of influences that continue to colour the unique sound that Turnstile offer up with every new single, which means, in short, that Glow On is about to be huge. The record will comprise of the tracks off Turnstile Love Connection in addition to a slate of new songs, three guest features from Blood Orange, and the consistently unabashed experimentation that Turnstile have been venerated for.
