Veil of Maya Vocalist Lucas Magyar Has Confirmed His Exit From The Band

Share

Veil of Maya vocalist Lucas Magyar has revealed he has left the progressive metal group, confirming he has no intentions of rejoining and is instead focusing his efforts on his new band, SIFYN.

The future of Veil of Maya has become more uncertain, as vocalist Lucas Magyar has confirmed on social media that he’s no longer part of the metal group.

Seemingly taking inspiration from The Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd, Magyar would share his departure replying to comments on an Instagram post.

A commenter had asked Magyar about the future of Veil of Maya in a since deleted post, replying “If you do, it won’t be with me. I decided to part ways and focus on SIFYN”.

Magyar has since removed any reference to Veil of Maya from his Instagram bio, shifting all his efforts in promoting his new band SIFYN and vocal lessons.

Veil of Maya would go on hiatus last year after guitarist Marc Okubo took on a touring role with the Ronnie Radke-led metal band Falling In Reverse. Fans of Veil of Maya have been left wondering about the status of the progressive metal group, as updates would fall silent after entering its hiatus period.

It’s unclear as of now if Magyar is the only member to have left the group. In January, Okubo posted: “When Veil comes back it will be the heavy version”.

The band would announce their hiatus with an official statement on September 2024, writing: “We have made the difficult decision to have Veil Of Maya go on hiatus and we will not be playing any of the upcoming festivals or tours. We apologize to our fans and appreciate everyone’s support over the years. This break is necessary for us to reassess our future, and we hope you understand. When the time feels right, we’ll update you on what’s next for Veil Of Maya we will be back. Thank you again.”
