BABYMETAL Mark 15 Years With Heavier Re-Recording Of ‘Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!’

Fifteen years in, BABYMETAL are looking backward and swinging harder than ever.

To celebrate their 15th anniversary, the Japanese metal juggernauts have surprise dropped a newly re-recorded version of their early fan favourite ‘Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!’, reborn louder, meaner, and unmistakably heavier.

The updated track landed Monday (January 5th) , with the band confirming via social media that the release commemorates ‘the 15th anniversary of its formation’.

Officially titled ‘Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (15th Night Ver.)’, the rework doesn’t mess with the song’s DNA, the hyper speed riffs, candy coated melodies, and thrash backbone are all intact, what’s changed is the weight behind it.

Alongside the track, BABYMETAL have also unveiled a brand new music video the clip sees the band headbanging their way through an old school arcade, inside and out, blending neon nostalgia with the controlled mayhem they’ve built their reputation on.

The most noticeable upgrade comes from MOMOMETAL, whose newly added death growls push the track firmly into modern extreme metal territory, it’s a clear signal of how far BABYMETAL have evolved since their early days.

15th Anniversary CD

To properly mark the milestone, BABYMETAL are also releasing an ultra limited 15th anniversary CD featuring ‘Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (15th Night Ver.)’, the CD will be available in extremely limited quantities from January 7th, at the ‘BABYMETAL FIRST EVER POP-UP IN TOKYO’, held on the first floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA.

It will also be sold at merchandise booths during their LEGEND – METAL FORTH shows on January 10th and 11th, 2026, at Saitama Super Arena.

Each purchase comes with a randomly selected postcard from three designs showcasing costumes from the new video, hidden among them is the ultra-rare ‘THE CHOSEN 15’ card, with just 15 copies in existence worldwide.

If that wasn’t exclusive enough, BABYMETAL have also revealed a ‘15th Night Studded Battle Long Jacket’, matching the studded outfits from the clip, only 15 jackets will be made, available via lottery through the A!SMART store, and displayed at the Tokyo pop-up.

Fifteen years deep, BABYMETAL are far from slowing down.
