I strongly suspect Adolescence is gonna clean TF up tonight.

In what feels like a a celebration of trad TV drama, a dream team of Law & Order stars award Outstanding Drama to The Pitt.

  • Mike White, The White Lotus, “Full-Moon Party”

And that’s it for Andor, which got absolutely shut out in all other categories. Let’s all agree to take that calmly.

Lead Actor in a Drama Series

  • WINNER: Noah Wyle, The Pitt
  • Sterling K. Brown, Paradise
  • Gary Oldman, Slow Horses

COMEDY CATEGORY

  • Hacks (HBO|Max)
  • Nobody Wants This (Netflix)
  • Only Murders in the Building (Hulu)
  • Shrinking (Apple TV+)
  • What We Do in the Shadows (FX on Hulu)

Ray Romano and Brad Garrett falling right back into their old dynamic absolutely rules. “You know, if you were this funny back then, we coulda won a few more of these.”

Directing for a Comedy Series

  • WINNER: Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, The Studio, “The Oner”
  • Ayo Edebiri, The Bear, “Napkins”
  • Lucia Aniello, Hacks, “A Slippery Slope”
  • James Burrows, Mid-Century Modern, “Here’s To You, Mrs. Schneiderman”
  • Nathan Felder, The Rehearsal, “Pilot’s Code”

The Studio is so good I’ve almost forgiven them for Preacher. God, their Preacher series sucked ass. Ruth Negga not guilty, though.

Writing for a Comedy Series

  • WINNER: Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, & Frida Perez, The Studio, “The Promotion”
  • Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary, “Back To School”

  • Hannah Bos, Paul Thureen, & Bridget Everett, Somebody Somewhere, “AGG”
  • Sam Johnson, Sarah Naftalis, & Paul Simms, What We Do in the Shadows, “The Finale”

On the one hand, Hollywood loves to laud stuff about Hollywood. On the other, The Studio really is that good.

  • WINNER: Seth Rogen, The Studio
  • Adam Brody, Nobody Wants This
  • Jason Segel, Shrinking
  • Martin Short, Only Murders in the Building
  • Jeremy Allen White, The Bear

  • Liza Colón-Zayas, The Bear
  • Kathryn Hahn, The Studio
  • Janelle James, Abbott Elementary
  • Catherine O’Hara, The Studio
  • Sheryl Lee Ralph, Abbott Elementary
  • Jessica Williams, Shrinking

On the one hand, clear category fraud: Einbinder is a co-lead and it’s insane to argue otherwise. On the other hand, she did end her speech with “Go birds, fuck ICE, and free Palestine!” so we’ll let it slide.

Guest Actor in a Comedy Series

  • WINNER: Bryan Cranston, The Studio
  • Jon Bernthal, The Bear
  • Dave Franco, The Studio
  • Ron Howard, The Studio
  • Anthony Mackie, The Studio
  • Martin Scorsese, The Studio

Given the sheer amount of guest stars The Studio has, expect a lot more of this going forward.

Guest Actress in a Comedy Series

  • WINNER: Julianne Nicholson, Hacks
  • Olivia Colman, The Bear
  • Jamie Lee Curtis, The Bear
  • Cynthia Erivo, Poker Face
  • Robby Hoffman, Hacks

…they could probably do something about the gender imbalance, though.
