The City of Birmingham has arranged a public livestream for all to join and say their final goodbyes to the late Black Sabbath frontman.

The world has spent the past week paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. Now, it’s time to properly say goodbye.

A public tribute procession will take place later today, offering fans and the city a chance to honour Osbourne’s life and legacy.

At 10:00 PM AEST today (1 PM BST), a funeral cortege carrying Ozzy Osbourne and his family will begin a slow procession down Broad Street, a cultural hub in the heart of the city. The route will lead to the aptly named Black Sabbath Bridge and commemorative bench, which fans have covered in notes, flowers and tributes since the Prince of Darkness’ passing.

If you’d like to watch the funeral procession, there will be a livestream taking place. To watch, simply head over to the Black Sabbath Bench website, enter your email address, and you’ll have access to the event.

Birmingham’s honorary lord mayor, Zafar Iqbal, issued a statement calling Osbourne “more than a music legend – he was a son of Birmingham.” The Mayor added that the city was working with the Osbourne family to arrange this final tribute to the late Prince of Darkness: “[I]t was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral. We know how much this moment will mean to his fans. We’re proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began, and we are grateful that they have generously offered to pay to enable this to happen and support the city in giving him the farewell he deserves.”

Ozzy Osbourne passed away only weeks after performing at Black Sabbath’s final show. The concert was one of the most successful charity events of all time, raising $190 million for various charities including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Rest in peace, Ozzy.
