Upcoming football horror film Him, produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Nope), has shared its official trailer featuring bloody beatings and psychedelic satanic rituals.
Jordan Peele is flexing his producer side once again for Him, an upcoming horror film putting a bloody twist on American football.
The film is directed by Justin Tipping, who previously directed the 2016 film Kicks and was co-written by Skip Bronkie, Zack Akers, and Tipping.
Him follows a young, promising football star, Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), who, after suffering a traumatic brain injury at the hands of a violent fan, believes his football career is dead. However, his dream is revived when his hero, the legendary quarterback Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), offers to train him at his private compound.
Quickly, Cameron realises that Isaiah’s methods are more extreme than he expected. The trailer teases some of these methods, in all their gruesome glory. Violent beatings, psychedelic rituals, having footballs launched at mach speed into your face, you name it.
The movie also looks like it’s taking a page out of Mortal Kombat‘s book, as we see an X-ray shot of a character’s neck cracking after colliding with another player.
All of which will apparently be necessary in shaping Cameron to be the GOAT he believes he can be. That’s right, folks, it’s Whiplash, but football (except even more violent and bloody).
Him also features Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, and MMA fighter Maurice Greene, as well as hip-hop artists Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack. The film is set to release on September 25, via Universal.

Jordan Peele may be best known as the director of films Get Out and Nope, but his producer resume is also stacking up quite nicely. The former comedian has recently produced Nia DaCosta’s 2021 Candyman reboot and last year’s action film Monkey Man starring Dev Patel.
