Grief does strange things to the subconscious, but according to Jack Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne hasn’t gone quietly.
The Prince of Darkness, who passed away in July at age 76, is apparently still showing up for his family in the most Ozzy way possible.
Speaking during a recent interview with Billy Morrison on Sirius XM, Jack revealed that multiple members of the Osbourne family have been having eerily similar dreams about Ozzy since his passing and in those dreams, he is not sombre, silent, or fading into the background.
“We all keep having dreams about him. In the dreams, he is laughing,” Jack said.
“And he is saying, ‘Just stop f***ing crying’. He’s laughing every time. Me and my wife, my daughters, all the same thing. We keep seeing him in our dreams, laughing.”
Ozzy died from a heart attack after years of declining health, including coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s, his death marked the end of one of the most chaotic, influential, and culture warping lives in rock history.
Yet if Jack’s account is anything to go by, Ozzy’s sense of humour still lives on.
Morrison backed up Jack’s story, sharing that he has also been visited by Ozzy in his dreams. “I’ve seen him. He’s good, Jack. He’s not in pain,” Morrison said, according to Far Out.
Ozzy’s passing came just 17 days after his final live performance in his hometown of Birmingham, the farewell show raised millions for children’s charities and brought together some of the biggest names in metal, a fitting send off for someone who helped shape the genre’s DNA.
Ozzy Osbourne may have passed, but these shared dreams show he is still checking in and of course will live forever through his music.
