John Power Of Oasis Support Act Cast Says Liam And Noel Gallagher “Seem To Be In An Absolutely Wonderful Place”

John Power says things are going smoothly on the road with Oasis.

The Cast front man, who is currently opening for all 19 dates of the UK and Ireland leg of the band’s Oasis Live ‘25 tour, told Vulture that Liam and Noel Gallagher “seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place”.

Power’s comments were also not throwaway lines either. For a band built on tension and tabloid drama, apparently backstage it’s as close to calm as it gets. “You can feel the positive energy,” Power said of the pair. “It’s all going hunky-dory.” The remarks come off the back of Cast’s return to high-profile stages and reflect what he describes as a genuine shift in the Gallaghers’ dynamic. He says they both want to be there and are focused on the music.

Power went on to talk about Liam in particular. According to him, the younger Gallagher is not mucking about when it comes to the live shows. He’s not firing off tweets like he used to and instead is putting everything into the live shows. “He’s very, very focused at the moment,” Power said. “This tour means a hell of a lot, if not the world, to him.” He also added that Liam’s voice is holding up strong and sounds better than ever, crediting whatever it is the singer is doing behind the scenes.

At the first of the Cardiff shows, Cast dedicated their track Walkaway to late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, and played a set of fan favourites including Guiding Star and Alright. Backstage, Power later posted a quick video serenading Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs with a tongue-in-cheek ballad.

Cast have also recently announced a new album titled Yeah Yeah Yeah, with the lead single Poison Vine already out. It features their trademark guitar tone and vocals from soul veteran P.P. Arnold.

Power says playing these shows feels like a full-circle moment. The vibe is positive, the stadiums are completely full, and Northern guitar music is back front and centre. Really, it’s just how it should be.
