Lord Sear, the longtime Shade 45 DJ and Hip-Hop radio personality, has died at the age of 54.

A Voice Embedded In Hip-Hop Radio
Lord Sear built his reputation during hip-hop’s golden era of radio, early in his career he worked alongside Kurious, later joining the influential Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in the ’90s. That program helped launch countless underground artists and remains one of the most respected platforms in hip-hop history.
Sear’s connection to the culture also extended to the road, in the early 2000s he travelled internationally as part of Eminem’s Anger Management Tour, bringing his presence to arenas across the world. Outside radio, he also popped up in unexpected places, fans might recognise his voice from Grand Theft Auto III, while he also made a cameo on the intro of Big Pun’s 2000 album ‘Yeeeah Baby’ (per Billboard).
