Metalcore veterans Miss May I have officially announced their eighth studio album, No Place For Me, with the Ohio outfit also unveiling the record’s first single, Sanctuary.
Due for release on October 2nd via Solid State Records, the album marks Miss May I‘s debut for the iconic heavy music label and follows 2022’s acclaimed Curse Of Existence. Alongside the announcement, fans can dive into the music video for Sanctuary, offering the first taste of the band’s next chapter.
Frontman Levi Benton says the new single explores a deeply personal battle with self sabotage and the search for emotional security:
“Sanctuary is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible. It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like.”
That sense of vulnerability extends across the entire album, which Benton describes as the most honest release the band has ever created:
“No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.”
Those themes of anxiety, self-reflection and perseverance are wrapped in the band’s signature blend of crushing riffs and melodic hooks, a formula that has made Miss May I one of metalcore’s most enduring names since emerging in 2007.

Across a career spanning nearly two decades, the band have amassed hundreds of millions of streams while touring alongside heavyweights including Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage and Motionless In White.
Releases such as At Heart, Deathless, Shadows Inside and Curse Of Existence further cemented their reputation for pairing technical musicianship with emotionally resonant songwriting.
With No Place For Me, Miss May I appear ready to continue that legacy, delivering what promises to be one of their most personal and hard hitting records yet.
