Hailing from the US underground, Noelle Sucks has dropped her new EP, Life is Sw33t, and with it, she’s giving heartbreak a facelift.
Out now on Graveboy Records, the four-track release leans into fuzzy guitars, raw lyrics, and just enough optimism to keep things from sinking into total despair.
The title track, Life is Sw33t, is a post-breakup song. “This song was written with Devon Corey and is maybe the ‘happiest’ one we’ve done so far,” Noelle says. But don’t expect sunshine and rainbows—this is Noelle Sucks we’re talking about. “I went through one of the hardest heartbreaks of my life this year, but it was paralleled with some of the coolest and most rewarding moments, too.”
That push-and-pull between pain and growth drives the EP, especially on Sorry I’m An A$$hole. With its gritty guitars, sing-song hook, and biting self-awareness, it’s a cathartic anthem for anyone trying (and failing) to forget someone who’s become a stranger.
Add to that the introspective Nonchalant and Copy Ur Keys—the latter featuring Underoath’s Spencer Chamberlain—and you’ve got a collection of tracks that solidify Noelle as one of alt-rock’s most relatable new voices.
From the US Underground to Centre Stage
Based out of the US, Noelle’s not your typical artist. At 13, she survived a life-altering surgery that shook her world and sparked her creativity. That near-death experience dismantled her spiritual beliefs and left her chasing deeper meaning through art. Music came later, fuelled by heartbreak and the need to fill the silence.
Her blend of emo, indie rock, and shoegaze has since found a home with Emo Nite’s Graveboy Records. The partnership makes sense—Noelle’s sound is steeped in the kind of emotional depth and DIY grit that Emo Nite has championed for a decade.
Bringing Life is Sw33t to Life
The EP’s release is just the beginning. Next up, Noelle will hit the stage at Emo Nite’s 10-year anniversary bash at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, alongside heavy hitters like Saosin, Tigers Jaw, and Cobra Starship. It’s a huge step for an artist whose music feels intensely personal yet ready to connect with audiences on a massive scale.
Noelle Sucks might call Life is Sw33t her “happiest” work yet, but don’t let that fool you—there’s still plenty of raw emotion and bite beneath the surface. With every track, she finds the light without sugar-coating the dark.
For Australian fans of emo, shoegaze, or anyone who loves their music with a bit of grit and heart, Noelle Sucks is one to keep on your radar. Her knack for turning life’s messiest moments into anthems makes her a name we’ll likely hear a lot more of, even from across the Pacific.
