Oasis Reunion Tour Documentary Reportedly Hits Four Hours In Early Cut

Share

The upcoming Oasis reunion tour documentary is shaping up to be anything but standard, according to producer Steven Knight, the film currently sits at a massive four hour runtime, and somehow still manages to earn the word ‘phenomenal’.

Speaking on Project Big Screen, Knight gave the clearest glimpse yet into the long rumoured project built around Oasis’ 2025 comeback run, and if you were expecting a straight concert film, think again.

‘A documentary with a plot’

Knight described the film as “a documentary with a plot,” adding that it’s “actually got a story.” That phrasing raises eyebrows straight away, it hints at something looser than a traditional doc, possibly blending real tour footage with a narrative thread that reshapes how the reunion is told (per Rolling Stone).

It’s not a new idea in music film, but it’s rare territory for a band like Oasis, whose mythology is already messy enough without adding another layer of interpretation, what is clear is that the current cut won’t stay at four hours.

Knight confirmed the team is trimming it down to something more digestible, which probably won’t upset anyone who’s ever sat through a bloated rock doc, the length still says a lot about how much material they’re working with, and how deep they’re willing to go.

Gallagher chaos, captured on film

Knight also opened up about interviewing Liam and Noel Gallagher, which sounds about as unpredictable as you’d expect:

“They’re just one quote after another, they’re just so funny,” he said.

That alone might be enough to carry half the film, the Gallaghers have always been their own best content machine, whether they’re on stage or tearing into each other off it.

Behind the camera the project pulls serious weight, Knight known for Peaky Blinders, produced the film, while Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace direct, the duo previously handled LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’ and the NYC scene doc ‘Meet Me in the Bathroom’.

Oasis wrapped their 2025 reunion tour last November after South American shows, as for what’s next, nothing is locked in. Liam, of course, has already started stirring the pot online, hinting at another run without saying anything concrete.

So for now, this documentary might be the closest thing to closure fans are getting.
