One year after the passing of Ozzy Osbourne, Birmingham is honouring one of its greatest cultural icons with the first official Ozzy Day, transforming the city that shaped the Prince of Darkness into a living celebration of his legacy.
Held on July 22nd, Ozzy Day 2026 is a free event brings together live performances, exhibitions, walking trails and fan experiences across Birmingham, inviting visitors from around the world to celebrate the life and music of the Black Sabbath frontman rather than mourn his loss.
Among the highlights are performances from Birmingham brass outfit Bostin Brass, who famously led Ozzy’s funeral procession in 2025. The group will perform Black Sabbath classics and Ozzy solo material at landmarks including New Street Station, the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the Black Sabbath Bench and Martineau Place throughout the day (per BBC).
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will also return with a special lunchtime performance at the Bullring after their emotional tribute concert immediately following Ozzy’s passing last year.
Fans can visit the expanded Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025): Working Class Hero exhibition at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, which now includes Ozzy’s iconic throne from Black Sabbath’s farewell concert at Villa Park, alongside personal memorabilia, awards and career spanning displays. A separate Back To The Beginning photography exhibition is also running at Grand Central.
For those wanting to explore Ozzy’s hometown, a self-guided Black Sabbath trail connects landmarks including the famous bench on Broad Street, the Navigation Street mural, Ozzy the Bull, The Crown pub and Aston Villa precinct. A charity Ozzy Walk from Villa Park to the Black Sabbath Bench is also raising money for homelessness services.
No.88 Prince of Darkness Limited Edition fragrance
Adding another unique tribute, British fragrance house Czech & Speake has launched its No.88 Prince of Darkness Limited Edition fragrance at Selfridges Birmingham., the scent was Ozzy’s signature fragrance for more than 30 years after Sharon Osbourne first introduced it to him.
Each £250 (approx. $478.10 AUD) collector’s bottle donates £50 (approx. $95.62 AUD) to Cure Parkinson’s and is also featured inside the museum exhibition.

Jack Osbourne’s wishes for Ozzy Day
Ahead of the anniversary, Jack Osbourne encouraged fans around the world to celebrate through memories rather than sadness.
“This month has been really just ups and downs for me, a mixed bag of emotions. A lot of people have asked me what my plan is for the 22nd. Am I gonna do anything? And I don’t know. This is the first time for me. This is first one year. So I’ve been sat around and I’ve been thinking a lot.”
He then asked fans to fill social media with stories using #OzzyDay.
“Here’s what I want. I would like anyone who’s listening to this, anyone who is compelled, anyone who just wants to share a story about my dad to share a story. Whether it’s the first time you listened to his music, the first time you saw him play live or a time you saw him play live where something stood out to you. Or you had an actual encounter with him. Or whether you just want to talk about what his music meant to you. That’s what I want. I want to fill the entire day entire day of July 22 with just awesome Ozzy stories.”
Jack added one final reminder that perfectly captures the spirit of the day:
“So yeah, that’s my ask. Please, get thinking, get posting, spread the love. That’s what my dad would want. He would not want us to all be sat around shedding tears because that’s not his vibe.”
