There’s a shift happening inside Paleface Swiss, with the band confirming the departure of longtime drummer Cassiano ‘Cassi’ Toma.
The news landed via social media, marking the end of a run that saw Toma behind the kit for both 2025’s ‘Cursed’ and this year’s ‘The Wilted’ EP.
It’s important to note there is no drama here, just a heavy decision that’s been building behind the scenes.
‘This was a decision made together’
Toma addressed fans directly, making it clear this wasn’t a fracture within the band.
“Hey everyone, Cassi here.
I want to share something personal with you all. I’ve made the decision to step down from the drum throne. And before anything gets lost in noise or speculation, please know this: this was a decision made together, with care, honesty, and love on all sides.
There’s no falling out, no bitterness. Only deep respect and a bond that will never fade. What we’ve built together means more to me than I can put into words. These years have been some of the most beautiful, intense, and unforgettable moments of my life. I will always be proud to have been part of this family, this dream.”
It’s a grounded statement, especially for a band that thrives on intensity, there’s no theatrics, just clarity.
Mental health at the centre of the decision
Toma didn’t dance around the reason either, the weight of it all has caught up:
“But sometimes love also means being honest about your limits. Lately, it’s all become a little too heavy for me to carry the way I want to. I’m still navigating my mental health, and I’ve had to face the difficult truth that right now, I can’t be the drummer this band deserves, or the person I want to be for myself.”
It’s the kind of honesty that’s still rare in heavy music, even as more artists start opening up.
One last show, then a new chapter
The split isn’t dragging out, Toma confirmed the timing is immediate.
“Tonight will be my last show behind the kit. And tomorrow, we’ll still be together, celebrating life, celebrating my birthday, celebrating everything we’ve shared.
So let’s hold onto the memories with warmth, even if they come with a little ache. Let’s allow both joy and sadness to exist at the same time. And let’s trust that this isn’t just an ending, but also the beginning of something new for all of us.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who’s been part of this journey.
All love, always ❤️”
Paleface Swiss kept it simple on their end: “Goodbye Cassi, thank for everything, we love you forever🫶🏻”.
It’s the end of a chapter that helped shape the band’s recent output, what comes next for both sides is still unclear, but the tone here says everything. Respect, not rupture.
