Punk Legends Pennywise and Millencolin Announce 2025 Australian Tour

Share

Punk rock is alive, well, and ready to blow the roof off Australia as two of the genre’s most iconic bands—California’s Pennywise and Sweden’s Millencolin—join forces for a massive co-headline tour in February and March 2025.

This isn’t just a tour; it’s a celebration of punk’s enduring legacy, a chance for fans to relive the glory days and for new listeners to experience the raw energy that put these bands on the map.

Pennywise needs no introduction to anyone who’s spent their teenage years soundtracked by skate punk anthems. Bursting out of Hermosa Beach in 1988, they became the heartbeat of SoCal punk, delivering a relentless mix of hardcore energy, thought-provoking lyrics, and a DIY ethos that resonated with fans around the globe. Their self-titled debut in 1991 remains a landmark album, and over three decades later, their live shows are still a masterclass in chaos and community.

Meanwhile, Millencolin’s journey began on the other side of the globe in 1992, bringing Swedish skate punk to the world with albums like Tiny Tunes and the career-defining Pennybridge Pioneers. It was the latter that propelled them into mainstream consciousness, with tracks like ‘No Cigar’ landing on the iconic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 soundtrack and becoming a generational anthem. Decades on, the band’s original lineup is still intact, and their performances remain as tight and electrifying as ever.

Both bands have stayed busy over the years. Pennywise recently wrapped tours across Europe and Canada, and their last visit to Australia in 2019 saw them celebrate the 25th anniversary of Straight Ahead. Millencolin, known for their unshakeable chemistry and commitment to their craft, have continued to tour globally, keeping their unmistakable blend of punk and rock alive on stages from Stockholm to Sydney.

This tour comes at a time when punk rock is experiencing a resurgence. In the US, the Vans Warped Tour is set to return in 2025 for its 30th anniversary, reigniting the cultural phenomenon that shaped the alternative music landscape. Closer to home, Australia’s punk scene is thriving, with bands like Amyl and the Sniffers making waves internationally. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for Pennywise and Millencolin to remind us all why punk refuses to fade into history.

Stopping in Wollongong, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and more, the tour promises to deliver the kind of no-holds-barred performances these bands are famous for. Whether you’re screaming along to ‘Bro Hymn’ or losing your voice to ‘Penguins & Polarbears,’ this is an event no punk fan can afford to miss. Early bird presale tickets go live Wednesday, November 20, at 12 PM local time, with general sales kicking off Friday, November 22.

Dust off your skate shoes, crank up your old CDs, and get ready for a tour that’s sure to remind us all why punk still matters. With Pennywise and Millencolin at the helm, it’s not just about nostalgia—it’s about carrying the torch forward.
